I think I`ve already mentioned I love making things from scratch. Recently I`ve checked a few things I usually make at home. Did you know what is on the ingredients list of nut milk from the supermarket? Check if you didn`t so far. Quite interesting I recon. Although you might find a really good quality nut milk I would still go for homemade version.
I`ve made this morning pistachio nut milk:
50 g salted roasted pistachio
500 ml water
2 tsp honey or any other sweetener
1 vanilla bean, halved, or 1 tsp vanilla paste
Even though you don`t need to soak the nuts, rinse them together with the vanilla bean and place both in a blender. Add honey (or other sweetener) and water, cover and blend on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes. It will be milky and have a bit of foam on the top.
Strain milk through a nut bag (bag for delicate textile) and squeeze into a bowl. Squeeze very well so you separate pulp from a milk.
That`s all! ♥
